Correct blocking doesn’t result in a limp mode or any driveability issues just an annoying service engine soon light. Burger tuning used to sell a module you could plug into the car that would automatically reset an error code generated by blocking the egr.
Also blocking the egr is just plain good for these cars and it significantly reduces the diesel soot recirculated into the intake which is the major contributor to these cars coking up. It also improves fuel economy
I run mine with the egr blocked but dpf and scr intact.
