Usually there is significant opportunity for profit if you can DIY but it is not easy and takes a lot longer than you might expect. If you don't tear it down as far as you want to go, bear in mind that when someone wants a part you have to be able to do the disassembly quickly plus pack and ship. I think it is one of those things that most owners do once and never again. Since labor is such a big portion of repairs, if you can do the repair yourself, I think that is a much better way to go with a 4.8.
