3.0 broken aluminum head bolt

Hi Guys,
My wife’s E70 3.0 was leaking oil. I started looking around and found a bolt head had snapped off next to the oil filter housing. I did some research and found that this bolt is actually a head bolt and breaking is common on earlier e90’s but I do not see it happening on any X5’s (hers is a 2010). Here is an article on pelican discussing the problem;

Have any of you heard of this happening on an X5? I have removed the intake manifold and extracted the remainder of the bolt. My next step is to remove the valve cover and make sure that the three aluminum bolts used internally are still there. We are not the original owners of the vehicle but have had it for last year or so.
I would love to get feed back on this. Should I be worried? Is there anything else I am missing?
Thanks
