My driver door handle stopped opening the door for me. Every time I pull on the handle nothing happened. Studied up on youtube and found bavauto with a very detailed and well done diy for the carrier replacement.

Started to dissemble the whole thing today (please see pix).

First question is, am I correct in assuming that the small metal that broke off (please see pix) is the stress point for the metal carrier? Does all that force that goes into pulling the handle stress at this specific point?

Is there a fix for this? I cannot find the broke off piece so I'm not even contemplating gluing it back or solder it back. Already purchased a new replacement and will install it later on this week.

Next question: I am in the process of upgrading the front door dsp speaker with a refurbished BAV unit (please see pix).

Out of the 4 contact points on the oem harness, where do I connect the + and - wires from the bav speaker?

Third question, I finally identified this plastic part that fell out of the door when I removed the door card. Do I have it correctly installed? (please see pix)
