What's test 6? It ran out of gas at about the right amount of miles per tank, so I think one of the floats may be stuck. I read something about bending one of the float arms a bit so it doesn't hit the side of the tank. Does this make sense? I was careful removing and replacing items in the tank, trying not to bend the float arms.
