Climate Control Broken?

How many of you had to replace your climate control center piece when you started blowing the 7.5 amp fuse? At my wits end.
Issue: Checked out a/c and it worked great, ice cold no issues running it straight out at 60 degrees. It's FL after all. Then when the weather cooled down an attempt to raise the temp up to 76 blew four fuses in a row. Now I have hot air only. I disconnected the unit.
I replaced the dual water heater valve with new one. Old one jammed up, so I figured that was the electrical issue.
I connect the c.c in sections, and as soon as I connect the power source and try to change the temp, poof, blows the 7.5 amp fuse.
I also cleaned the c.c. unit before connecting.
What am I missing? Is this a worthless c.c unit? Oddly, the rear fan console blows with the disconnected c.c. unit and none of the dash fan/air blows. Weird.
Thanks for your assistance.
