Second bad news bearer. I have had to JS using the under hood connections a number of times and usually the MID went inop in some way or other. Usually the disconnect the battery,leave for a short time and reconnect did the trick and everything went back to normal until the next jump start.
Then, one time, the trick did not work and I had to pull the MID and disconnect it. That restored the fully op situation and all was well. A number of years later after the V1 left connected killed the battery and I had to jump start nothing would restore the MID to standard op. I ended up securing one the exact same on fleaby and installing it so I could set the time, change between AM & FM and get more than two stations on the radio.
Good news the MID worked great; bad new it needs the pixel repair. Irony is the MID I pulled had perfect pixels, no stations and always 4 hours and 33 minutes out of time but you could see every pixel.
