Thanks - I checked these (at least what can be seen) and there is no pieces falling or visible signs of damage
So far I believe the lower control arms have quite a bit of play and seem to be a contributor (if I push the arm up/down parallel to the bolt that attaches to the wheel there is a clear metallic clunk so I guess that is not right)
Now, what I found (will open a new thread) is that, with both front wheels in the air, if I rotate the wheels rapidly back and forth (e.g. 20 degrees back & forward) there is a very loud metallic clunk coming from I assume is the transfer case

almost like it had no "grease" or anything.........
