Hi All,
Do I have to check the continuity while in replacing timing chain?
Here is my case. I have a 2000 E53 4.4i with 150000 miles. I bought German Auto Solution tools and followed the guide step by step.
https://www.germanautosolutions.com/..._tools_diy.php
But the issue is checking the continuity in the steps of #63. For bank 5-8, one of the three pins and the VANOS unit itself have the audible beeping, the other two pins doesn't. For bank 1-4, all the three pins doesn't have the beep but the unit itself has it. I tried all my thoughts but running out of idea.
I know some posts support the idea of not necessary to check the continuity. But I am curious what caused this issue. A bad VANOS unit or something else?
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
