I think the key to controlling a virus like COVID-19 is no different that it was for the Spanish flu. While not formalized there was natural social distancing, avoidance of crowds, wearing of masks and good hygiene. The key that has yet to be practiced is expect the worst and respond accordingly and sooner than anyone thinks is necessary. Overreact rather than underreact. Make it priority one by a long shot to save lives. Believe in the science and the experts with a long history of experience dealing with infectious diseases. And 80 plus percent of us do the right thing to protect ourselves and others from the disease.
