BTW, my understanding of the FRM issue is not that it gets fried per-say, but that the firmware gets corrupted for some reason I can not remember. At least that's what my poor over worked brain is returning for info at the moment. Can happen at literally anytime, but is supposedly very common while programming or coding. Carly gives a very strict warning before coding LCM in the E70 citing this fault as a risk.

Do you still have your 2010 X5 35D? How's it driving? Do you get the rattle-ta-ta from the rear hatch latches?
The going rate for repairing the FRM is around $150 to $200, plus you have to remove it from the footwell and then mail it in. The removal video I looked at shows this a difficult job because of that tiny space you have to unplug and remove the nut.
I think i'm am going to order an online coding service to update as much of the softwares on the CIC and other various components as possible.
Has anyone here tried the following service?

It's $99 per session. I wonder what the scope of the work can include.
