I'm having this issue myself right now. The coil hits the side of the engine bay wall before I can angle it enough to get it out. It's not hitting a hose/pipe/part that can be removed. It's literally the metal on the side of the bay. I'll figure it out, but in the mean time I'm running new plugs/coils in 1-7 and old (unknown age - from prior owner) in #8. Weekend project...
I personally changed all 8 plugs and coils, I do agree that cylinder 8 was a pita to change the plug. Good luck with #8 though
