E65 (7 Series Sedan)
E66 (7 Series Sedan LWB)
E70 (X5)
With the N62TU engine
SITUATION
The ISTA Service Function test plan should be performed to clear stored values in the DME RAM memory after
repairs are completed, in the following situations:
VANOS or engine-related repairs if any of the following faults cannot be cleared:

The engine oil level display continues to show as overfilled even after being corrected. This is also
described in SI B12 05 07.
PROCEDURE
This test plan can be found in ISTA, using the following path:
Service Functions
05 Maintenance and Pre-Delivery Check / CBS reset / CBS functionality, engine oil, disturbed

After completing the test plan activation, turn the ignition OFF for at least one minute, and then back ON again.
Clear the DME fault memory and test drive vehicle to verify effectiveness of the repairs.

Alternately, can use tool32 to delete the ram backup.
