Still plodding along and making the best out of an expensive game...driving a diesel
So the latest weird thing has been my car is sounding like me an it seems to be in all four corners of the suspension.
This is a fully sprung system, no air at all. Recently had new tyres fitted and a 3D AWD wheel alignment. That made it handle so much easier and lighter than before, but now we have had some rain and it has been pretty heavy, the underneath of the car is washed nice and clean.
Of course this has caused a new unpleasant development, which is creaking and cracking as I corner or drive over small bumps at slow speed. It is beyond irritating and annoying but when checked everything is said to be in good condition. Is it possible for the bushes and associated suspension arms to be so tight that they could cause this noise?
The car is very hard on the road, it makes me think that it could have heavy duty springs in it and I am not sure of what the exact ride height should be. I do know that I am 88kg and I can barely move the car if I stand on the side step and hold the roof rails.
The other part of the question is to do with my mag wheels, I have 19x9 front and rear in a pattern that does not list on the BMW wheel chart, yet they are BMW. I can find them in 18" for the X5 in the same style but not 19". Can anyone give me some info please and what is the rim load limit.?
