All the above is true. I have an 05 that's equipped with the feature. It's a total relief.
And I have one without.
That X3 can be somewhat annoying to me but over time you build up your shoulder and arm muscles. I once almost got into a crash last summer and had to maneuver at sudden high speeds. The normal feature stiffened up and did not let me oversteer, something I would normally do considering the surprise. Very thankful [emoji120] right there.
Both cars are over 15 yrs old.
