My key fob stopped working a while ago so that was out of the question, but the rear lid grip worked up to that point. Now it doesn't.
From my research it Seems like moisture go to it and I should replace the grip.
My Question:
Does the Trunk Lid Grip (#16) come off on its own once the 2 hex bolts are out, or do I need to take the entire TRIM (#2) off along with the grip 1st and then separate the two?

Yep! You must take the trim piece off (#30) that snaps on across the exterior rear hatch.
Be very careful, it could snap...use plastic trim tool to release the body plug/clips.
Mind you there is an electrical cord/wire there for the lights.
[emoji95]But really I think you simply have a weak battery that needs to be replaced with a new fully charged battery.
