When my interlock failed, i just could no longer use sport mode but it was intermittent at first and i could have a symptom like you describe if I had in sports mode when i stopped.

It would fail to push the gear suggestion knob to the right. You have to do it manually and you should be able to start.

To test if interlock E is working (if you can), put in sport mode then go direct to park. If not broken it will push the gear request knob back to center.

Parking brake anything interested m unrelated. Solve that separately.

Replaced ≠ fixed. Follow the symptoms.

If you ever heard the E interlock when you start the car it's already failed.
