The plot thickens....

Since I'm using (or was until recently) both Assist and the CPT9000 at the same time, I'm not too concerned about the back end of the antenna connection. Either the CPT9000 was already sharing the antenna with Assist or it already has a separate antenna. Either way, if I can make the antenna connection at the center console, I know the other end is connected to an antenna somewhere.

Just this afternoon, I discovered that my car has a -218 "combo" module AND the car is already "pre-wired" for BT. There's already a BT antenna mounted on top of the CD&DVD bracket in the LR 1/4 panel! The antenna is plugged into the -218 module, but it's not doing anything at the moment because BT is disabled in -218.

So all I should have to do is swap the -218 module for a -993 or later module that has BT enabled. BUT this also means that the eject box at the center console should also be a simple swap - and according to BMW it's not. The "official" word is I can have a combo BT/Assist module but CAN'T use it with the console-mounted eject box.
