Current status . . .
Well, the check light issue is not a problem any more--perhaps it went off because I disconnected the battery and never ran it for a few moments after reconnecting it.
The Multi-information Display even came to life--and then died upon attempting to reset the clock. And it was weird too—despite pushing the clock button, the MID would not show the clock menu. So, it could be something as simple as a lose wire (although I doubt it), or it could be something altogether different.
Count me as unimpressed with the whole BWM iPod adaptor experience. The after-market adaptor system that allows one to hook up their iPod though the CD changer wiring in the trunk of the car and route the connector wire into the center console sounds like a much better thought-out deal then what I’ve had to face the past few days . . .
