when i was 17 my uncle took me out into a parking lot, told me to put my foot on the brake and then depress the clutch... with my hand on the stick he showed me the gears and then he got out of the car, leaned in the window and said, "ok, i'll see you at my house" and got in his car with my aunt and drove away
I don't know if i was more scared or pissed off but i made it there, only stalled once and quickly learned that the parking brake is your friend when you're stopped on an uphill incline at a light and you've been driving a manual for all of about 10 minutes of your life!!!!!
