Here's the thing. Changing the radio would have only enabled the ID3 tag display (BMW Call this AUDIOTEXT) and folder navigation.
Playing MP3 CDs is a function of the CD Changer. Therefore, if it didn't play MP3 CDs before you changed the radio, the fact you changed the radio wont effect its ability to play MP3 CD, only display ID3s ....
What this means is that if you add the MP3 CD Changer to vehicles prior to 9.2005 (before the new radio), then you can still hear the tracks fine. Its just you cant navigate through directories or see the track info.
I use iTunes to burn my CDs. All my tracks were ripped at
[email protected]. They play fine, as well as ID3 tags display great ! If you sort the playlist by Album name, iTunes will create seperate directories/folders for each album. Nice if you want to take advantage of directory/folder search with the new radio.
I've got the Mp3 CD Changer .. I'll check the part # and report back.
