If you shoot sports or action, the 5D might not be your camera as it maxes at 3fps.

Also, while the 5D has a higher megapixel count, the pixel density on a 30D is higher, which might be better for you depending on what type of photography you like.

For the record, i'm in the same boat as you, i have a 10D (it's in my brief case as we speak with a 28 1.8 attached), but I'm wary of canon coming out with the uber 5D in February at Photokina, so i'm waiting. My 10D has a lot left in it, and still takes great pictures.

just a thought...

by the way, canon has a $300 rebate on the 5D right now and if you buy another item on the rebate list, you get double the rebate, i.e. $600 off.

If you want a 5D now is the time to get it, BUT, remember, a 30D has 5fps.
