mD: I'm no solderhead either...We have a flatscreen with an infra-red transmitter...I point the remote at it and the TV makes noises. All the gear is hidden somewhere.

I believe we are running a Yamaha RX-V657; we give it a thumbs-up.

Can't say if it's the receiver or the speaker set up, but when I play the beach head insertion scene in Apocalypse Now, (Kilgore: If I say its safe to surf this beach Captain, then its safe to surf this beach.) our house sounds like the roof of the US Embassy in Saigon circa April '75.
