hello, sorry i did not read your suv profile. on the x3 the "final stage resistor" is located in the blower.. see pic RealOEM.COM BMW E83 X3 3.0i ELECTRIC PARTS FOR AC UNIT the symptoms you posted are identical to what i had on my x5 when i removed the center consol. i would hang on and see what others have to say about this, before i would remove the blower. if you havent tried. disconnect the battery, for 15 min. maybe that would reset.. - g luck
