From reading several years of posts on this recurring problem,
my guess is that the hydrocarbon laden moist air that collects
in the crankcase vapor exit system, tends to freeze and/or
'harden' in cold temps. It appears to be exacerbated by those
cold temps, as the reported incidents occur in cold weather, not
"summer".
Lack of real longer term world cold weather testing combined with
cheap azz, low cost oem parts=plugged arteries and real problems.
