Can anyone comment on the power difference between the two on their A/T flavor ? My main usage for my future X3 would be around town mainly together with some highway...

Had a E46 328i before and I felt it was too powerfull for my need. I know that the 2.5si is not the same engine since it is the evolution of the European 328i but I'm concerned if its extra power compensates the extra weight of the X3.
