somewhereinla is right. Copyright protection is not a "mac" thing... not even a "Windows" thing.
CDs: Yes, they can easily be ripped using iTunes.
DVSs: Yes, using third-party software -- Popcorn is one that comes to mind. Go to
Version Tracker and do a search.
