Howdy. I am considering adding the brushed aluminum running boards to my ride. I am a mountain biker and have recently purchased a Thule roof rack. So running boards seem useful from that perspective. I am also a detail freak and have found it difficult to wash/dry/polish/wax the roof. Running boards seem useful here too.

Are the running boards wide enough to stand on for these functions? I would like to hear opinions on how you all like your running boards.
