Not quite true. BMW use the same pads and rotors on the X5 regardless if your X5 was shipped with 17", 18", or 19" wheels/tires from the factory. Only the 4.6is/4.8is get slightly larger front pads/rotors for their 20" paws. I would definitely look into getting a large brake kit to help with the added unsprung weight of the 22s. It will certainly help with the aesthetic as well since the 22s will make the OEM calipers/rotors look puny. See how tiny the rotor/caliper appeared when wrapped in 22s.
