hey mdrobc13, i myself did the same mod as yours and I also have an '03 3.0. All you have to do is open up the panel at the trunk, one on the left and then other on the right.

On the driver side, it will be a struggle especially if you have a chaner, dvd, etc on that side. I only have a cd changer and I have to take the changer out in order for me to reach the 3 screws. After taking the changer out, screws are each reach. Pop it out and place the new ones in.

Passenger side is easy since I don't have a subwoofer on that side. Easy access, same thing, take (3) screws out and pop new tail light in.

The reason I switched mine is that I used WHITE LEDs for the turn signal. I have been trying to take a pic of it but don't know how to keep the white LED on since its a blinker and take a pic at the same time.
