My problems continue.
I spoke to my service manager today and he informs me that the CCC Control unit that connects the rear camera to the iDrive has failed when attempting to replace the rear camera. To give you some background, when engaging reverse and the rear camera, the car would give me a "Rear Camera Malfunction". They proceeded to replace the rear camera, but after replacing it, the CCC module failed, causing the whole iDrive to go down.
So basically, its a working car without iDrive, and everything that goes with it: Audio system, bluetooth, climate settings, etc.
Currently, the module is backordered and won't arrive till August 1st. Almost a month...
I asked what my options are, and basically the answer was: 1) file a lemon law claim or 2) they'll continue to make my payments and continue to drive the X3 loaner (which by the way is crapping out...the ABS or DSC comes on from time to time in a corner, and the passenger airbag doesn't work - off light is on all the time).
While I'm very happy and thankful they are helping me with the payments, at the end, I really want a new car. That BMW is NOT authorizing and is asking that I give them a chance to fix the car. I personally feel like I've given them quite a chance, as the car has been there for over 3 weeks, and will be there another 3 weeks (at least).
Has anyone been in this situation and what was your outcome? Do you think I should continue to push for a new car, or just wait and give them a chance to fix it?
Chris
BTW, the X only has 300 miles on it, so they could easily take this car back and sell it with very low miles.
