Many thanks for the reply. I've tried what you recommended but still no luck. The same phone worked fine in my 2004 525 and still works fine in my 2007 325, it just doesn't seem to want to pair with the X5. Have checked bluetooth module is there, and the antenna, and all the wiring under the centre console - all seems ok.

Car is going in for service tomorrow so will be asking the dealer to fix. Car is less than three years old so hoping the warranty will cover it.
