The facelifted cayenne s is faster than the 4.8 in both manual and auto trim. I've seen numerous test where it pulls ahead by about half a car's length it also sounds more aggresive. The new ML500 (388ps) would be significantly faster than both, MB quote 5.8 to 100 and they are known to be conservative. Handling wise the ML is no match for either. I've seen a german test where they put the handling of the cayenne above that of the X5 which they found to be understeery at the track. The downside of the cayenne's stability system was that it would raise consumption by 1-2l per 100 because it has a separate little motor working to keep the car flat.
