It's not so much the "asymmetrical" part that I'm worried about, I'm more concern with the sidewall strength. If you look at the tire closely, almost every single tire manufacturer will specify an "inside" and an "outside" mounting on the sidewall and I think this has to do with the load withstanding capabilities of each sidewall design. When you think about it, the outside sidewall always take the brunt of the force during maneuvers. Flipping the tires from side to side will in essence make the "inner" sidewall sitting on the "outside". Flipping the tires just to get an extra 5k miles isn't worth the risk, IMHO. Just because everything worked out well last time doesn't guarantee that it will the next time.
