Is this a leased vehicle? Would you be turning it in at the end of the lease? If you answer YES to both questions DO NOT spend the $1K to extend the warranty. The 45K maint is essentially an oil change.

If you plan to keep the vehicle I would suggest getting the extended warranty that covers you up to 100K miles.
