I recently drove a friends 2007 328i sedan (E91) and noticed that his exterior driver side mirror was not the USA standard flat mirror, but the European style (my term) mirror that is split 2/3 flat and 1/3 (the outermost part) convex, which results in a much larger angle of view and almost totally eliminates the blind spot. The passenger side exterior mirrow BTW is the standard USA "objects are closer..." My only guess why BMW did this was because the mirrors are so small in the first place that a standard flat mirror would be a joke. My question is this, does the E70 X5 come with standard flat mirrors or the euro wide angles ones (in other words, is BMW starting a trend)? I know for a fact that the E53 X5 never came with wide-angle mirrors in the USA at least.
