Hi all great and wise people. I’m from Denmark Europe and I just bought a 2004 BMW 330 XD (E47). I have a question about the navigation system.

I have this navigation computer; I believe it is a MKIV.




The software that came with it says: Road Map Europe high 2004-1. My brother has a CD with 2006 software and that works fine in my system too.

My only complaint about the system is that it dos not show detailed maps on the screen only an arrow that point the direction.




Is it possible to upgrade to detailed maps by using the DVD Version 2008-1?

According to this post my Nav OS is V22 or V22.1.



I have downloaded the firmware upgrade from this post and successfully burned it to a CD, but I haven’t had the nerve to run it, can any body confirm for me that this will not harm my system?

I also acquired the map software, burned it to a DVD, but it dos not work, do anyone know if the firmware upgrade makes it possible to use the 2008 map or if it is suppose to work without the upgrade?
