Race is still a big issue in this country and there are still people who will not (or will ) vote for Obama for no other reason than race. There have already been more death threats on his life than any other candidate in history - do we believe that's only because of his politics?

I think it's sad but true that politics are a dirty business. Many of the Obama adds are, and need to, establish him as the candidate for everybody, so his 'real life' experience growing up in a 'white' neighborhood/school system makes sense. I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago and saw some McCain adds with his 'black constituents', that makes sense for him.

Race should not be minimized in this or any other campaign, nor should it be a major focus. However, I believe racisim is too much of a hot issue (if we want to talk about it or not) for either side to not discuss directly. It will be interestng to see how both sides hanle it as the election get's closer.
