lower oil sump drain plug thread repair

Drain plug thread on my lower oil sump got damaged by my idiot mechanics. I don't trust them to do this repair. So, I bought the timesert kit and repair it myself. I know that I can just repair it without taking the lower oil pan off but I want a clean repair and don't want the risk of having some debris left inside the pan.

Timesert seems to be better than heli-coil and perma-coil. It's like a solid thread bushing not just a coil. I bought the whole drain plug repair kit. Even though it's quite expensive but it's worth every penny. After the repair is done, no more dripping now.

Once the pan is off. Just drill out the damaged thread. Counterbore it to create a place that thread bushing collar will sit on. Then install the thread.
