if you look through the threads you will see that bmws do give a "few" problems, my x5 is now on about 150k and runs sweetly, id advise a good service, change transmission fluid, and most importantly learn about the car, a lot...no...tons of money can be saved this way .........i almost sold my x5 in desperation till i started to know d car......so id say go ahead...take d plunge
