Just a quick update.Finally got round to have another look at sorting the screen today.I disconnected all the connections at the back of the satnav unit in the boot and also all the connections to the Trafficmaster system under the spare wheel.Didn't seem to make any difference.When I wanted to start the car,the battery was flat,yet again,argggh!Anyway,got my faithfull old Supra to jumpstart the X5 and oohh wheee...For the first time since I bought it in May 2007 the screen was actually working as it should.Later on with a second startup the screen was bright as it should be ,but with a 9 sec flicker as described somewhere on this forum.This seems to have disappeared now phew.Sorry for the long post,but I'm so excited after sorting the screen and would like to thank all of you guys for pointing me in the right direction.I almost bought a new screen as well
