The trim is not difficult to replace. I have not done it on the E70 but I have replaced it on the X5 E53. Almost all of the pieces snap on and can be pryed off. The only difficult piece was the centre console which had to come out. The aluminium trim cost me $700 for the E53 and I believe it's quite a bit more for the E70! Maybe work out a deal with the dealer - Tell them you will pay for the new trim if they pay for the labour to replace it, or at least give you a break on the labour if you don't want to tackle it yourself! I wouldn't lose out on a good deal just cos of the trim!
