Thanks for the response. I tried something else before I got your reply, and I'm now stuck on a new problem.

I downloaded and burned the v21.1 CloneCD image. That brought the screen back to life with a message about doing the software update and taking six minutes.

It stayed up for twenty five minutes before I gave up and shut it down.

This morning it was still up on the way to work. After about ten minutes it killed the stereo, though I was able to turn it back on.

The v21.1 disk will not eject.

Ideas?
