Not true.
The 4.0 litre sold in previous generation 5 and 7 series models was a naturally aspirated 8 cylinder.
The 35 in the X6 is a twin turbo inline 6, 3.0 litres
The 50 in the X6 is a twin turbo eight, 4.4 litres
The 40 in the new 7 series is a twin turbo inline 6, 3.0 litres, rated about 20 hp higer than the 35 model. That is the rating that I think should come across to the X5 and X6.
