What I don't understand is why the deal wasn't either in writing with no exceptions or why Pex5 would choose to do the deal with the shakedown that occurred.
The financial managers mode of operation has just been supported by Pex5's actions. If more of us walked away from such BS, the dealers may be inclined to rethink how they treat those who would pay their salaries.
I mean no malice towards Pex5 as I have been in the position where I had to get rid of the trade, but when I purchased my 08 X5 over the phone with a negotiated APR ( because they stated they would beat the rate I already had) and experienced the shakedown with a, "sorry that rate is not available, it must have been a mistake", I simply stood up and told him to put the plates back on my trade. All of a sudden the rate was now availale.
What would have happened if you showed up to pick up the vehicle and you said that you've decided you're going to pay $1k less than had been agreed to...they would have held any deposit you had and told you to have a nice day.
More of us need to stand up to this and do business with those that respect us. If it means driving farther to have it serviced than so be it. I purchased my vehicle from a dealer 2 hrs away and have it serviced at a dealer 10 minutes away. I gave them the opportunity and they chose to not be competitive.
