Shame on Carmax
SHAME on CarMax
I recently joined the X5 world because I was waiting for the delivery of my 07 X5 loaded with lots of goodies. After paying $975 for the transfer from CA to Connecticut the car was sold to somebody else by mistake (according to CarMax).
After waiting for my transfer to arrive to Connecticut, last week, a message was left at work informing that the transfer car had arrived (they did not bother calling my cell phone). As soon as I received the message the next day, I called to step up and appointment to pick up my baby. They told me that the salesperson will get back to me ASAP. I waited all afternoon, but nobody got back to me. I called about five times that same day but they would always tell me that the salesperson would get back to me. Finally, I threatened to talk to a manager if the salesperson did not call me in the next 30 minutes. Subsequently, the salesperson called me to inform me that car was sold.
I said what??? he said yes I am sorry and here is his explanation of the situation by email: “As I stated to you on the phone we are terribly sorry that the BMW X5 you transferred from California was inadvertently sold. By some error the order was deleted and the vehicle went back into inventory and was subsequently transferred to another location. I have located similar cars which we could consider if you like. At the very least your transfer fee will be refunded to you. I hope you will consider working with me to search for another vehicle”
In the meantime, I already sold my vehicle and I am hustling with New Jersey transit buses. I don’t want to rush and buy the first available vehicle because this is a big investment considering my financial capacities. The price for the car was 42,000K with Tech, Premium, and Sport option it had 9K miles. This experience was devastating for me and for you out there BE WARY ABOUT BUYING CARS FROM CARMAX. My experience was not good.
I don't know what to do now....
