I have a 2006 4.8is as well. With the stock summer wheels and tires I have no problems, but I bought (from BMW$$$) winter tires and wheels (18 inch) and have a similar problem. In fact I blew the right rear snow tire on the freeway on Boxing day, and I still worry that it was because I got a series of tire warning lights, each of which i carefully checked (no air loss) except the last one, which I just overrode! There may also have been something nasty and sharp on the road (it was snowing heavily at the time).

So I don't know what the differences are. The dealer "reinitializes" the system when i take it in to them. and it is fine for a month, then on comes the warning light. With the summer (original wheels and tires) no issues. I wonder wat will happen when I change the tires next year....
