(edited: my apologies; I meant to post this on the 'stereo' forum section)
I have a 2001 6-Disc CD Changer (BMW brand that came with the X5).
I have premium sound system with DSP and NAV.
My CD Changer stopped functioning. In fact it won't eject the magazine, either. The NAV/Monitor display says "NO MAGAZINE."
Dealer is asking for $750 to replace it (they don't do repair).

My extended warranty coverage covers only up to $250 in repair. Warranty folks is telling me to bring it elsewhere so they could remove the unit, send it off to get repaired.
So, If I do this REPAIR at a 'qualified' stereo repair shop, is there any NAV/Monitor/Display/DSP issues that I should be aware of that may come up that could further 'cause more headaches/problems???? Just wondering if I should just bite the big one and get a replacement changer at the dealer instead to be on the safe side.
Any insight and help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
