Just a question on sport vs non sport - is the adaptive drive that good? its bloody expensive but sounds great. I want to get 20' wheels (as they are the only ones that look good IMHO) but worred that its only available as sport and that may make daily ride a bit harsh etc ... I was starting to head back to idea of getting 19's in a non sport to save $$ and perhaps get a more comfortable ride ..but then again I would have though appeal of getting SD over standard 3.0d is the performance factor and therefore want to be able to corner better etc ..interested in your view as we'll likely hold our car for 4-5 yrs ....

also - I think white is the new black ..love it ..but also love lighter interior rather than black (all my BM's have been black inside ..want to get something to lift the mood a bit) ..did you go blac interior? I've noted a few white ext with camel interior (and even one with white ext and beige int) ..but dealers say dont do it as they dont look good together ....thoughts?
Hi Anzer,

If your going to keep the X5 4 -5 yrs go for the Adaptive Drive & Active Steering and yes get the minor face lift Oct 09 production as it will have the new iDrive. So a Jan 2010 build date would arrive by the end of Feb 2010.

I got black interior as I want the black murdered look on a white car, just finished my black matte kidney grills today, no chrome surround.

As for a white interior, my daughter has a current 3 series m-sport white with white interior, you just have to look at the white interior and it gets dirty, my new X5 is a DD so that would diffinitely be out.

Back to Adaptive Drive, a smoother X5 than the sports suspension version and hardly leans in the corners and that's what adaptive drive is all about. A adaptive drive X5 with 20" wheels is smoother than a X5 with sports suspension with 19" wheels.

This is my 3rd E70 X5 with adaptive drive and everytime I get a loaner X5 without it you realise how good it is. The sd version has no turbo lag compared to the standard 3.0d but it uses a good litre per 100klm more but at close to 600nm of torque its the pick, but if your just cruising around the city then 3.0d is easier on fuel.
