Yep. It is unusual, which is why it took me so many hours to figure out some of what was going on. My friend has an '05 X5 which has non DSP + 8 speakers (I think this might've been the norm).

Mine is also the Australian version. It's quite common for Australian delivered cars to have features deleted. I've heard of us exporting cars to the USA that sell for lower $ with more features, than what the local car sold for. Go figure!
